“The Old Church in Meeanee has a fascinating history dating back 150 years to its first incarnation in 1862 when the missionaries began planting vines and cultivating the land around St Mary’s. The brothers were popular, industrious and very successful farmers, sharing their skills and ideas freely. Their warm hospitality, easy friendship and legendary culinary skills made the mission a favourite stopping place for travellers and it is in their esteemed footsteps that this tradition continues today”-My Wedding Guide
”The Old Church opens on to a sun-filled Conservatory, which in turn opens out onto The Courtyard Garden and Bar.
The three complementary spaces can be used exclusively for weddings of up to 175 guests.
Intimate weddings of up to 40 guests may reserve private use of the Conservatory and Courtyard areas. With flexible ceremony times and our 1am licence, your guests have more time to enjoy the special day.
Set amongst the grapevines, with stunning views of the Ruahine and Kaweka ranges, The Old Church is a place where fabulous memories are made.” - The Old Church

FLORISTs

Lushka

A self confessed (messy) creative, colour enthusiast and texture junkie. I have been passionate about flowers for as long as I can remember but it wasn’t until I trained in London and started work for Wild at Heart that I realised the creative scope and immense potential the industry holds.
Not one to follow a set script in my design, I love to work with what is on offer seasonally and arrange following my instincts. With nature as my supplier I am at the very whim of its creations, there is no such thing as a flower defect in my eyes! I thrive on the unusual, creating large installations in original locations is a highlight for me.
My inspiration comes from the little treasures that can be found in N.Z gardens such as seedpods, berries, flowers, fruits, twigs, moss etc. By incorporating these into my designs you can ensure a unique and truly Lushka creation. It is a mission of mine to to be as sustainable as possible, using largely local suppliers with an emphasis on N.Z flora and fauna only not imported. Lushka is inspired by a close friend Kushla, whose radiance and beauty will forever influence the way I create.

have been in the florist industry for 24 years, always working in busy North Island professional Florist studios. I can offer you a wide variety of flower designs, whatever best suits the recipient’s needs. I love what Nature has to offer us, from beautiful blooms bright and bold to soft and romantic, earthy pods, nuts and berries, fauna and foliage. I can help in times of sorrow, celebrations or just because you want to make someone’s day.

As someone who has always loved weddings and love stories, I never dreamed that I would be a celebrant. But after getting married in Hawkes Bay and attending friends weddings I saw that there was a gap in the market for a younger celebrant. A celebrant with a flexible approach to planning and presenting a ceremony. My love of theatre means that I have an eye for small details. The little ones that I’ve picked up after 10 years in the wedding industry that can make such a difference to how a ceremony feels, runs and looks to your guests.

My goal in being your celebrant is to help you to create a ceremony that reflects who you both are as individuals and as a couple, the relationship that you share together and how you view the commitment that you are making. It’s important to me that your ceremony looks effortless and smooth. So the special people that you gather around you to celebrate your wedding remember it for being; beautiful and simple, or eloquent and traditional, or elaborate and sentimental, with special touches unlike any other, full of love, fun and laughter or however you dream it to be.

A man of few words, so this won’t take much. Born and bred American, or Yank, as my wife calls me. I married Alice in 2016, never thinking we’d find ourselves here in NZ. I spent 3 months with her in NZ and fell in love with the beach, good coffees and an incredible culture. I knew we needed to move here.

I farmed for the last 15 years. I’m used to a bit of heavy lifting and logistics but I never thought it would lead to velvet chesterfields. But I’m here, in a beautiful land with down to earth people and it’s great. Flock is kiwi to it’s core, despite my foreign roots. But it also reminds me of home, my family always gathering in the lounge, always laughing on their large corner couch. So it’s a bit of home, a bit of New Zealand and a great place to just be. I hope you enjoy our furniture. I believe we create a space where memories are made. A space to meet new people, to laugh without being told to be quiet and to relax. I’m alright with that.

Cheers,
Kris
